First in the history: CRYSTAL SERENITY to cross Northwest Passage in 2016
The Crystal Cruises liner CRYSTAL SERENITY will become the first luxury ship in the history to perform a new expedition-style voyage through the legendary and mysterious Northwest Passage. At the beginning of August 2016 the cruise liner will start its 32-days voyage from Alaska to New York City.
During the voyage on board of the CRYSTAL SERENITY will be 14 professional expeditors who will be at passengers’ disposal. While traversing the Arctic Ocean the passengers will experience the „expedition days“ if weather conditions will be favorable.
While navigating the route, the luxury ship will be acommpanied by an escort vessel. This will carry additional safety and environmental protection equipment. The vessel will also serve as a platform for a helicopter and exotic landings. Both - the CRYSTAL SERENITY and the escort vessel will be using low-sulphur Marine Gas oil fuel.
The ports of call are already known and include: Kodiak, Dutch Harbor and Nome, Alaska; Ulukhaktok, NW Territories; Cambridge Bay and Pond Inlet, Nunavut; Ilulissat, Sisimiut, and Nuuk, Greenland; Bar Harbor, Maine; Boston, Massachusetts; Newport, Rhode Island, and New York, New York.
