Five crew poisoned by gas in the cargo hold of Lady Irina, Denmark
Police was called on board of Dutch freighter Lady Irina, docked in Fredericia, Denmark, in the evening July 13 after receiving a distress call of 5 crew poisoned by carbon monoxide in cargo hold of the vessel, loaded with pellets. Engineer, 41-old Russian, was the first to enter hold to check carbon monoxide, 4 others came after him when he didn’t return back. They’ve been taken out of a hold, presumably by police, but one of them, Russian engineer, was dead. Four others were taken to hospital, they’re out of danger.
