Fire on board of m/v Caraka Jaya Niaga III-7, crew evacuated, Indonesia
Fire broke out on board of general cargo vessel Caraka Jaya Niaga III-7 on June 26 on Gresik port road, East Java, Indonesia. Reportedly fire was caused by welding works in engine room. 4 tugs were engaged in firefighting, 25 crew left the vessel and went on board of one of the tugs, no injures reported. Vessel was loaded with timber, but fire didn’t reach the cargo. Fire was extinguished, vessel was towed to port. Condition of the vessel unknown, no AIS signal since the time of accident.
