Armed guards repelled pirate attack in the Gulf of Aden

A suspicious boat with gunmen made an attempt to approach the tanker TORM SOFIA in the Gulf of Aden on Saturday the 28th of June. The attempted attack was thwarted by the armed security guards on board the tanker.

At the time of incident the Danish TORM SOFIA was en route from Sikka, India to New York City. As reported by shipping company Torm, the owner of the tanker, none was injured and nothing happened to the vessel. The armed guards were acting according to their safety procedures and the hijackers abandoned their intention.
