Cruise liner WESTERDAM caught on fire

The Holland America Line's cruise liner WESTERDAM caught fire when it was sailing from Seattle to Alaska on Saturday, the 28th of June. Due to the incident the vessel was forced to get back to the Port of Seattle.

As reported by the Holland America there was a small fire in one of the ship’s boiler rooms. The fire teams aboard the vessel quickly extinguished the fire. Shortly after the passenger ship assisted by a local tugboat returned to the dock in the Port of Seattle and was investigated by the Coast Guard. There were no injures reported, all passengers and crew members of the vessel are safe.

According to the FleetMon’s satellite AIS tracking data the WESTERDAM left the Port of Seattle and continued its voyage to Alaska yesterday.
