CKYH Alliance Reopens its Far East – East Coast North America via Panama Service AWE3
The CKHY alliance members reopen their Far East – East Coast North America via Panama service that was operated by Yang Ming Marine and which closed at the end of November 2013. K Line and Yang Ming Marine will reopen this service as joint operators and brand it AWE3 and AW3 respectively. Coscon (AWE3) and Hanjin (AWY) will take slots on the service, which is due to be inaugurated on 18th May by the vessel YM SHANGHAI from Hong Kong. This will be the third Far East – East Coast North America via Panama service for the CKHY alliance. The service will de- ploy 10 vessels on a weekly frequency and a 70 day rotation. The average weekly service capacity is expected to be 4,280 TEU.
At the same time CKYH’s Far East – East Coast North America via Panama service that was jointly operated by Cocon (AWE7), K Line (AWE5), Yang Ming Marine, (AW5) and Hanjin (AWS) is closing. The last sailing of the service starts today on 9th May from Xiamen with the vessel HANJIN ELIZABETH. The service was served by 10 vessels on a weekly frequency and it had an average weekly service capacity of 4,135 TEU.
