Maersk Starts Running Calypso Service and Modifies its Panama - Venezuela Service
Maersk Line opened its North Coast South America Feeder Calypso on 27th April with the 850 TEU vessel FALMOUTH from Manzanillo. Currently the 1,050 TEU vessel STADT EMDEN is also deployed on the service and a third vessel might be phased in as the service has a 3 week rotation (see news : Maersk launches new Intra South America feeder Calypso).
At the same time Maersk modifies its Panama – Venezuela service. The port calls at Cartagena (double call), La Guaira (second call) and Puerto Cabello (second call) are added to the port rotation as announced in March (See: Maersk modifiesits Panama-Venezuela offers). The first call at Cartagena will be on 14th May by the vessel Maersk Wakayama. The service continues running on a fortnightly frequency, deploying 2 vessels.
