HANSA CONSTITUTION runs ashore near Hong Kong sports ground

The German-flagged HANSA CONSTITUTION ran aground in front of sport field in Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong, yesterday afternoon, on April the 6th. The container vessel would have hit the shore wall, if the anchor had not been dropped to slow the vessel.

As reported by the Fire Services Department, being on its way from Yokohama to Shenzhen the 193m long HANSA CONSTITUTION suffered an engine failure and was pushed ashore by strong winds.

The container ship was refloated with the help of tugs, there were no injures reported.
