Deutsche Afrika Linien Announced to Take Slots on Maersk’s South Africa - Middle East MISA Service
Deutsche Afrika Linien announced to take slots on Maersk’s South Africa to Middle East MISA service to replace the IMMA service whose suspension has been announced recently (see Evergreen and UAFL’s Jointly Operated Indian Ocean Island - East Africa Service IMMA to Close Down).
The MISA service runs on a 7 day-frequency deploying 7 vessels. The overall rotation time is 49 days and the average service capacity as of March 2014 is 3,450 TEU per week. With the new MISA service in its portfolio, DAL is able to offer weekly rather than the fortnightly sailings. It will also give DAL a direct connection to the transshipment hub Jebel Ali. Deutsche Afrika Linen will start its participation on March 13th at Jebel Ali with the vessel SAGITTA.
