Bulk carrier Mokpo Star grounded and refloated in Columbia River
The Panamanian-flagged bulk carrier Mokpo Star grounded in the Columbia River on February 25th. The vessel ran aground when the crew tried to adjust their position in the river without proper authorization. This happened at around 4:30 pm, local time.
The Mokpo Star refloated with the incoming tide later on the same day. With the help of Columbia River Bar Pilot the vessel was moved to a safe anchorage. There were no reports of pollution.
