With immediate effect, Hapag-Lloyd joins K Line and NYK on their jointly operated Japan-Singapore-Jakarta service (K Line: JASECO4, NYK: PEGASUS1). The German liner, who branded the service JSJ, started taking slots on this service. The 4 vessels which used to be employed on the service will be replaced by newer ones, which will double the weekly capacity of the service. As of March the average weekly capacity is 4,200 TEU. The new vessels are yet to be determined.

In addition to Hapag-Lloyd, which will be the first German carrier to directly link Japan to Indonesia, Hanjin continues to take slots on the service (Hanjin branded it JIS). On March 12th the vessel NORTHERN GENIUS will inaugurate the new port rotation which reads as follows.

JASECO4/PEGASUS1: Tokyo - Kawasaki (only for K Line)- Yokohama - Nagoya - Kobe - Singapore - Jakarta - Singapore - Ho Chi Minh City (new) – Tokyo
