Luxury yacht hijacked by pirates in Mediterranean
The luxury motor yacht ARMAGEDDON was attacked by four masked gunmen on February 16.
The incident occurred when the yacht sailed off the south-western coast of Corsica - a popular yachting place. There were three people on the board - the owner of the yacht, his wife and their friend. The armed pirates locked them in the cabin. Three hours later the hostages were forced to leave the yacht in one of the life boats. After sailing in the Mediterranean Sea, the group was washed ashore near the village Campomoro and immediately informed police about the hijacking. Fortunately, no one of the yachtsmen was injured. French police are on a hunting for pirates.
