Heavy fog caused closure of Bosphorus strait
Due to the heavy fog on Wednesday 19 the Turkish Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits were shut having blocked the shipping traffic. Vessels from both, north and south entrances of the Bosphorus strait were waiting and could not continue the voyages. Ferry traffic in Istanbul was also disabled.
Obviously, foggy weather and reduced visibility still dominate in the Bosphorus Strait as according to the FleetMon Explorer the ships are moving in circle at the entrances of the strait:
