The Southeast of the United States currently suffers from heavy winter and under extreme weather conditions experiences a lack of road salt. Replenishment of road salt for American region will be provided by Germany: the bulk carrier KIWI TRADER transports a lacking substance from Wismar to New York to help the American citizens getting over a freezing and snowy winter.

The bulk carrier left the port of Wismar, Germany yesterday being loaded with 26 000 tons of de-icing salt. Such a tonnage reported to be the largest tonnage ever loaded to the vessel in the port of Wismar. The voyage of 176 meter length KIWI TRADER to New York is expected to take at least one week.
