Simatech And Evergreen Close Their India – Arab Gulf Service
As already announced in the article Hanjin, Simatech And Evergreen Close Their Jointly Operated India - East Africa Service, there are major changes in the three liners India, Arab Gulf and Africa related services. As of today, Evergreen and Simatech announced to close their SGE service, connecting India and the Arab Gulf. The last sailing by SIMA PRESTIGE will end in Colombo on February 18th. The weekly service was operated by 2 vessels with a weekly capacity of 2,700 TEU.
Simatech is said to open a new service using the three vessels SIMA PRESTIGE, SIMA SAPPHIRE, and SIMA PERFECT. While the rotation has to be confirmed, it is known that Maersk will take slots on the new service.
At the same time Evergreen stops slotting on the Colombo-Tuticorin shuttle (ICF4), which is operated by Bengal Tiger Line and XPRESS (TUX). The shuttle deploys two vessels, TIGER PEARL and DS ABILITY.
