Evergreen adjusts its LYS services connecting Greece and Libya

Feb. 14, 2014 at 15:50 by FleetMon Container Liner News in Container Shipping

Evergreen Line, the fourth largest container fleet operator, adjusts its Europe to Libya services. Evergreen closed its LYS shuttle service connecting Piraeus and Benghazi at the end of January 2014. In order to ensure the coverage of Benghazi, Evergreen adds a new port call to its LYS2 service. Starting February 23rd, the two container ships OLIVIA and MANOLIS P will call at the Lib- yan port on a weekly basis. The weekly service capacity of LYS2 is 1,215 TEU.

Additionally, Evergreen opened a new shuttle, LYS3, connecting Piraeus and Tripoli. Thereby, Ev- ergreen’s overall coverage in Libya is not changing but the shuttle connection is redirected from Benghazi to the significantly larger port in Tripoli.
