Alianca, Hamburg Sud’s South American Subsidiary, Launches Intra ECSA Service

Feb. 5, 2014 at 14:45 by FleetMon Container Liner News in Container Shipping

Hamburg Sud’s South American subsidiary, Alianca, launches a new intra East Coast South America (ECSA) service. The service will be sailed by two vessels, ALIANCA SAN MARTIN (ex EM PSARA) and ALIANCA ARTIGAS (ex SANTA BIANCA), with a capacity of 2,800 TEU each. The service frequency will be weekly with an overall rotation time of 14 days.

The service can be seen as a replacement of Hamburg Sud’s intra ECSA service which closed the end of December 2013. The vessels ATOUT and AMORITO, which were employed on that service, are now employed on CMA CGM’s ECSA WAF service.

In addition to Alianca, there are several other intra ECSA services offered which are operated by Log-in Logistica, Mercosul Line (subsidiary of Maersk Group) and MSC.

Alianca’s ECSA service:

Buenos – Aires – Zarate – Rio grande – Itapoa – Santos – Buenos Aires
