African migrants rescued
Italian coastguards evacuated about 700 migrants who were trying to reach the coast of Italy by small rubber boats. Most of the passengers who were on board reported to be africans.
10 rubber boats with near 100 passengers on each board sailed off Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa. One of the detained vessels was carrying about 150 people.
The italian rescuers reported that migrants massively started their journey because of the good weather conditions but unfortunately faced the troubles on their way to Italy. Many people died in the waters of the Mediterranean having to sustain starvation and terrible weather. The evacuated migrants were sent to reception centers of Sicily and Lampedusa.
