March 27, 2013 at 07:21 by Svitlana Slavina in Ship Building and Technology

Swedish tanker Seagas was christened in Stockholm on 26th of March and announced as the first  fuelling vessel for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the world.

Being located at Loudden in Stockholm, Seagas is able to fuel LNG to other ships thanks to a new bunkering method. The brand-new passenger ship Viking Grace will be supplied by the fuelling vessel with 60-70 tons of LNG every day, in less than an hour, when being moored in Stockholm.
