Nigerian ferry disaster, 166 feared dead

At least 166 Nigerians are feared dead after a boat disaster off Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. Boat with presumably, 168 people on board, mostly traders from Igbo, sailed from Oron, Akwa Ibom State for Gabon, on Mar 16 13, and capsized. The cause of the sinking is believed to be an overloading. Two persons, boy and woman, survived the tragedy. As of morning Mar 20 some 45 dead bodies are recovered. Passengers chose the wooden boat for transportation because of its’ low cost. Exact date and time of boat’s sinking are unknown, authorities reported disaster only on Tuesday, Mar 19.  Nigerian ferry disaster, 166 feared dead
