Esther C kidnapped officers released, Nigeria

Carisbrroke Shipping Company said in press-release issued on Mar 11 13, that 3 crew of general cargo vessel Esther C, kidnapped on Feb 7 13, were released and are now safe. The Company didn’t say if ransom was paid, which is hardly a surprise. All three are officers, among them 2 Russians and 1 Romanian.

Kidnap news:

British general cargo vessel Esther C was attacked by pirates on Feb 7 at 21:25 UTC in position 02 47N 005 48E, vessel was sailing from Douala in Cameroon to Tema in Ghana. Pirates robbed the crew, stole vessel’s property and kidnapped three officers, among them two Russians and one Romanian. Vessel resumed voyage and arrived to Tema on Feb 9, left on Feb 12.  Esther C kidnapped officers released, Nigeria
