Fortuna’s master fined for late grounding report, Denmark

Russian master of the Norwegian general cargo vessel Fortuna was fined 10000 Danish Crowns (1,788.80 USD) for being late with grounding report on Feb 12. 2013
He reported to Vessel Traffic Control some 1.5 hours after the accident, which is considered to be late. Fine was paid immediately on Feb 15, and vessel resumed voyage. Wonder if there is something left in Danish waters, which is not punished by fines, imprisonment, license and visa ban, etc., etc. Shipping can’t be 100 percent accident-free. Denmark resembles Russia by the stupidity and remorseless of some laws. Maritime Bulletin
