Nov. 13, 2013 at 13:09 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

KNRM (Dutch Rescue Institution) reported fire on board of general cargo vessel Edmy on Nov 12 13. Fire in engine room started at around 2300 LT and was reported to authorities, vessel at the time was anchored (or maybe, had to anchor after fire started) some 28 miles off Stellendam, Zeeland. KNRM sent lifeboats, but crew managed to extinguish fire by own means. Vessel was said to be en route from Antwerp to Scandinavia Lillesand, Norway), but as of 1230 UTC Nov 13 was under way moving up Scheur towards Rotterdam, escorted or towed by two tugs. Most probably, vessel was disabled after the fire and is to be docked for repairs.
