Freighter Nada 1 arrested in Mombasa after crew claim

General cargo vessel Nada 1 or Noor 1 was arrested on Oct 25 13 after the crew turned to court demanding the unpaid wages and refusing to leave port until paid, reported Kenyan edition standardmedia.co.ke. Vessel arrived to Mombasa in March and was detained over a freight dispute between owner of the cargo of machinery, and the importer. Dispute is to be settled by Mombasa High Court on Nov 19. Cargo was offloaded only recently, owner of the vessel Egyptian company Borana Marine Services (BMS), consented to offloading after suffering huge losses due to vessel’s delay.

According to Equasis, vessel was renamed Noor 1 in March, present flag unknown, manager ALFAMARINE SHIPPING CO-SYRIA.
