Crane vessel Wealthy Globe on fire, Vietnam

A crane vessel Wealthy Globe caught fire at around 1730 LT Oct 20 13, on a Front Beach in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Vessel grounded on Front Beach on July 15 2010, drifting there from Ho Chi Minh City anchorage after anchor chain broke. At the time of the fire there were 31 people on board, including 3 Vietnamese, 12 Burmese, 13 Thais, and 3 Hong Kong technical specialists, reported Tuoitrenews.vn News Agency. Fire was caused by welding works. All 31 persons were evacuated, no injures reported. Late at night Oct 20 vessel was still ablaze, firefighters fearing possible explosions of some 80 acetylene cylinders, which were on board.
