Natship adds Port Everglades call to Puerto Rico service

National Shipping of America (NSA) has added a call at Port Everglades to the Houston to San Juan de Puerto Rico shuttle, which the carrier launched in May of this year.

NSA’s Jones Act service, which deploys the 575 teu vessel NATIONAL GLORY, continues to offer fixed-day sailings every other week from Houston, but now makes an eastbound call in Florida on the way. Westbound sailings from Puerto Rico to the US mainland continue to operate non-stop to Houston.

The fortnightly service offers transit times of six days from Houston to San Juan, three days from Houston to Port Everglades and two days from Port Everglades to San Juan.

The new departures from Port Everglades compete directly with the Jones Act Puerto Rico links of Sea Star Line, which offers one sailing per week for this port.
