Poisonous cloud of ammonia leaked from LPG tanker Gas Columbia, Ukraine
In the afternoon Oct 12 13 ammonia gas leaked from LPG tanker Gas Columbia, berthed at 3-rd berth in Yuzniy port, Ukraine, Black sea. Emission was caused by cargo pipeline default, soon after tanker loaded a cargo of ammonia. Some 200 liters leaked, creating a murderous vapour cloud. Cloud was dispersed by port firefighting teams and three firefighting boats, using water cannons. Port authority ordered partial evacuation of port’s staff.
