Syrian OMEGA LIVESTOCK collided with Turkish chem tanker Sealy S in Marmara sea

Livestock carrier Omega Livestock collided with chemical tanker Selay S early in the morning Oct 1 13, reported Anadolu Agency, Turkey. According to AIS data and tracking, both vessel were proceeding in the same direction towards Dardanelles, and collided on parallel courses. Tirkish news agency says Omega Livestock “crashed” into Selay S. According to AIS, tanker was sailing at higher speed of 11.4 knots, while Omega Livestock maintained speed of 9 knots. Vessels presumably, collided during overrunning, due to dangerous maneuvering of either one or both involved vessels. Both vessels were damaged, extent of damage unknown.

Omega Livestock was en route from Capu Midia Romania to Tartous Syria. Chemical tanker Selay S was en route from Istanbul heading for Dardanelles.
