Luxury French cruise liner Le Soleal aground in Bering Strait, Russia

Brand new luxury French cruise liner Le Soleal ran aground off Arakamchechen Island, entrance to Bering Strait, Chukotka Peninsula, on reportedly, Sep 21 13, with 143 passengers on board, according to MRCC Moscow.

Vessel didn’t issue distress signal and didn’t ask for assistance. According to report, liner didn’t stuck fast, master planning to refloat by own means. No danger to passengers and crew. Liner agent, company Pacific – Network, based Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, is coordinating refloating attempts and possible assistance from Porvideniya port, Chukotka.
