Port of Baltimore to improve its infrastructure
The Port of Baltimore won a $10 million federal grant given to Maryland through the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER). The $10 million TIGER grant will contribute to increasing of port's cargo handling capacity and will help to improve the infrastructure of the port. The investment will allow dredging to expand accessibility for large ships and will provide rail access to one of Baltimore's terminals - Fairfield Marine Terminal.
Vice President Joe Biden said the grant for improvement of the port of Baltimore will help it to keep the successful development in a dynamic global shipping economy.
