Sovcomflot chem tanker Mar Rocia detained for overloading, Brunsbuettel

Chemical tanker Mar Rocia was detained on Aug 21 13 by water police in Great Northern Lock, Brunsbuettel, Germany, for overloading. Tanker is en route from Klaipeda to Ghent with cargo of liquid fertilizers, and was found visibly overloaded with freeboard cargo mark underwater. Police calculated tanker was some 30 centimeters too low, meaning an overload of 460 tons. Tanker was detained and directed to anchor at Medem Roads. Master paid security deposit. Reportedly, crew tried to lessen the overload by pumping out ballast water. Tanker resumed voyage on Aug 21, at 01:00 UTC Aug 22 vessel was abeam of Emden, North sea.
