Turkish chemical tanker Cotton was hijacked by pirates, Gulf of Guinea
Turkish chemical tanker Cotton was hijacked by pirates on July 14 13 on Port-Gentil road, Gabon. Vessel was anchored in Cape Lopez Bay, Port-Gentil, since July 13 or earlier, presumably offloading cargo of fuel. Manager lost contact with the vessel on July 14, last AIS signal dated July 14. Most probably, vessel was hijacked with the purpose of stealing cargo, and will be released soon. Indian media reported vessel is manned by all Indian 20 crew, some media said the crew consists of 24 seamen.
