MOL Comfort Update: Towing line disconnected from floating fore part

The fore part of the MOL Comfort was disconnected from the tugboat that was towing it in a north-western directions. Three tugboats are now trying to recover the connection to proceed with the towing.

Weather conditions in the region are still unfavorable but the fore part of the vessel remains floating stable with the majority of cargo aboard.

The MOL Comfort broke into 2 parts on the 17th of June, fore and aft part initially were floating. Aft part sank on the 27th of June. A salvage company from Singapore has been contracted to rescue the cargo and floating fore part of the vessel.
