Turkish tanker Nazo-S fire, Adriatic sea
Fire engulfed superstructure of Turkish tanker Nazo-S caused reportedly, by electric shortcut at around 18:30 LT June 21 13. Vessel was ballasting from Ravenna Italy to Galati, Romania, at the time of an accident vessel was some 37 miles off Civitanova, Italy. 12 crew went to lifeboat and was rescued by boxship Annamarie (IMO 9287687), later crew was transferred to patrol or rescue boats, sent from Ancona port by port authorty. Fire reported extinguished by two tugs with firefighting equipment by 05:00 LT June 22. The authorities are trying to contact owner of the tanker to decide where to tow tanker.
