Swiss-operated Bourbon Arethuse and US-operated C-Viking raided by pirates, Nigeria

According to joint TradeWinds – Upstream – IMB information, two PSV were raided on June 4 13 by the same gang of Nigerian pirates, near position 04 14.9N 007 45.7E, Usari Field, Nigeria. It is understood, that the PSV Bourbon Arethuse was the first target, and PSV C-Viking came second. No details available on C-Viking attack, presumably it went on in the same manner Bourbon Arethuse was raided. According to IMB, pirates boarded Bourbon Arethuse underway, on standby duties. Seeing the pirates the crew raised the alarm, retreated into the citadel, alerted other vessels and shore based office by VHF and waited until the pirates had left. On investigation it was found that vessel's and crew belongings were stolen. All crew safe.
