Maersk boxship Mathilde Maersk disabled by fire transiting Suez

Maersk boxship Mathilde Maersk suffered fire in engine room on June 6 13 while transiting Suez, reported Maritime Danmark. Fire started at 08:25 and was extinguished by the crew at 08:34, nobody was hurt, said Maersk press-center. Vessel nevertheless, was disabled by the fire. A tug came to assist, and took Mathilde Maersk to anchorage in Great Bitter Lake, where the vessel was anchored for repairs. As of 01:00 UTC June 8 vessel was in the same position. Mathilde Maersk was en route from Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia, to Algeciras, Spain. Cause of the fire unknown. Vessel is engaged on AE6/TP6 Service.
