April 20, 2013 at 03:03 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

A tug Dale A. Heller was towing 15 barges on Illinois river and in the evening Apr 18 13 lost control of the caravan due to strong current after recent heavy rainfalls. 7 barges went loose and came to rest against the Marseilles Dam, reported USCG sector Lake Michigan. Three barges are partially submerged, but no pollution reported. Dam is not breached, but as a precaution, Marseilles Police Department shut down the Main Street Bridge, located directly downstream of the Marseilles Dam.
