Egyptian coaster Adam intercepted with 20 tons of marijuana, Med

Coaster Adam was intercepted by the Italian Coast Guard on Apr 17 13 in Italian waters on suspicion of carrying drugs, off the coast of Pantelleria, an island off the coast of Sicily. Some 20 tons of marijuana were found, vessel was arrested and taken to port of Trapani in Sicily. Vessel was under surveillance for two days previous to arrest, reported to be loading with drugs in Morocco. Coaster was bound for Libya, European drug enforcement agency believes drugs were destined for Europe. Crew is 6, all Syrians.
