Vietnamese bulk carrier Nosco Victory with rescued 40 Burmese migrants on board was denied Singapore entry. Singapore authorities said vessel was blocked because ''those aboard do not appear to be persons eligible to enter Singapore''. Nosco Victory rescued refugees somewhere in Bay of Bengal, after their vessel Nayou sank on Dec 5. Indian authorities advised the Master to take refugees to Bangladesh, but most probably, operator of the vessel found it to bee too costly, and ordered Master to resume voyage. As of morning Dec 12 vessel was under way in Singapore Strait, heading for South China Sea. This newest story in a long line of identical ones again highlighted all the risks involved in rescuing migrants, with regards to the commercial vessels.
