Fire on deck of freighter Accum, Ipswich

Dec. 11, 2012 at 01:09 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents
Fire broke out on an upper deck of a general cargo vessel Accum on Dec 10 at around 1530 LT at Cliff Quay, Ipswich. Some 40 Ipswich firefighters were engaged, fire was put under control at around 1800. Media said vessel was loaded with some 300 second-hand cars in holds, bound for the Caribbean, and wooden boxes on the cargo deck. The fire was restricted to the upper deck and wooden materials, said the firemen. It seems unlikely, though, that the Accum is capable of carrying some 300 cars.
