Taiwanese bulk carrier Ocean Victory in distress off Dutch coast, North sea

Taiwanese bulk carrier Ocean Victory suffered an engine failure in the evening Dec 9 2012 off Zandvoort, north of Rotterdam, North sea, and started to drift towards the shore in stormy weather conditions. Vessel managed to drop anchor or anchors, but reportedly, got her propeller entangled in a buoy chain. There is no immediate danger to the crew, all 20 crew decided to stay on board. Three tugs are on the scene, at least one attempt to take bulk carrier on tow already failed. It is planned to tow Ocean Victory to Ijmuiden. Vessel is en route from Gibraltar to Ijmuiden.
