The units of the CMA CGM Kerguelen type are the largest container ships of the French shipping company CMA CGM at its introduction in the year 2015. The CMA CGM Kerguelen was released on May 31, 2015, as a series of six identical ULCV ships in cruise ship. The shipping company CMA CGM Marseille gave the ships at the shipyard Samsung heavy industries in Geoje, South Korea in order. The ships will be deployed on the FAL container line service (French Asia Line) between the far East and Europe. Schiffbaulich, the double-hulled vessels, classified at the Bureau Veritas, like the majority of the already existing ULCS series are designed. The deckhouse is arranged at the end of the front third of the ship, which provides an improved beam of view of and thus a higher front deck loading while chimney and machinery are located in the posterior third. The bunker tanks are arranged below the building; they comply with the provisions of MARPOL. The holds of vessels are sealed with pontoon hatch covers. The maximum capacity of the container is specified with 17.722 TEU. For integral reefer connections continue to exist. The arrival and berthing will be supported by a bow thruster. It consists propulsion of vessels B & W 11S90ME-C9.2, acting on a single fixed-pitch propellers from an Elf cylinder two-stroke diesel engine of type licence-built by Doosan.
