How to upload using Image Manager
Introduction
Many of you probably upload your images using the Tiny Image Uploader on the ships detail page. This can be time consuming. So here is an easier way: FleetMon.com has a quick and easy method to upload your images called Image Manager. It is especially useful if you wish to:
- Upload a large number of images
- Store images without assigning them to a vessel
- Store images that currently do not have a detail page
Getting Started
- Go to the FleetMon.com Start page
- Hover over the My FleetMon.com drop down arrow
- From the box click on My Images
- The Image Manager screen will appear, click on the green Add Images button on the right
- The button will go dark red and the Select file(s) box will appear.
- Select the fulder that you keep your images in
- The screen should now look like Fig 2

- Select the image you wish to upload and press Open
- The Add Images button will go green and Image manager will start uploading your image
- Now simply continue to add further images by using the same sequence, clicking on Add images and then selecting the next image you wish to unload
- Continue until you have selected all the vessels you wish to upload
- As you work the screen will look like Fig. 3

You will note that the box at the bottom of the screen shows the upload status. Once the upload is complete, click Save all changes. Having uploaded all your images you can move to the next stage and begin to assign your images to a particular vessel. You can do this any time you like, but always remember to press Save all changes before navigating away from Image Manager.
Assigning your image to a particular vessel
To assign an image to a particular vessel click on Select vessel... in the box to the left of the image.

- Type either the vessel name or the IMO No or the MMSI No into the searchbox
- As you type the details into the search box, Image Manager will refine the search. As soon as you see the vessel to which you wish to assign the image, click on the name box.
- Image Manager will assign the image to that vessel and return to the default screen
- Continue to assign your images to their specific vessels.
- Caution: Always ensure that you have assigned the image to the correct vessel. If you are unsure, do not assign the image until you have carried out further research.
- Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 show you possible errors and how to avoid them.

- The name I have on this image is Bever which I know to be a misspelling
- I know that it is a fairly small vessel. I believe it to be less than 50 mtrs long.
- I know it is not a tanker or passenger ship.
- It may therefore be Atlantic Beaver, a tug:Beaver,other type of ship or Sea Beaver, type not available
- So how can I define my search further? What other information is available on this screen? - Both Beaver and Sea Beaver have images.
- On the far right is a logo of a camera, click on this to show all available images.

I am now able to confirm that my vessel is Sea Beaver.
Tip: If you know or can find the IMO or MMSI No for the vessel in your image, it makes assignment much easier.

Sharing your images
You will notice that there is a sad face on all your newly assigned images. This means that they are hidden from view and have not been posted on the website. To make an image visible, just click on the sad face and it will change to a happy face and you image will be added to the detail page of its assigned vessel. Remember to save your changes!

Remember:
- You can make your images visible or hidden at any time you wish - just change the face!
- You can delete (PERMANENTLY) any vessel you want to using the X button and confirming your deletion
- You can change the vessel assignment at any time by clicking on the vessel name in the left hand box and entering new details
- You may add a description in the blank box on the right
- Always save your changes!
Active Vessel
If you upload a large number of images Active Vessel enables you to view all the images you have for a particular vessel.
Carry out the fullowing procedure

- Click on the Select vessel box to the right of Active Vessel (in white)
- Select your vessel by entering its details (Name or IMO/MMSI No) and selecting from the list in the drop down box
- Click on Show my Images - Active vessel and a list of your images will appear (Fig. 8)

Conclusion
Following the simple instructions above should enable you to swiftly and easily upload your images. But please remember:
- Only upload images you own the copyright for and, preferably, have taken yourself
- Follow the guidelines on image quality
- Take care to assign your image to the correct image
