STAR MANX was photographed in ballast in Elliot Bay Harbor roadstead on Dec 16, 2009, showing the owner's name, LT UGLAND BULK, in large blue block lettering on the port side hull. Obviously, the lettering was removed or painted over prior to this Dec 26th photograph. A night photograph of STAR MANX at Terminal 86 taken on Dec 25th shows no lettering on the starboard side hull. STAR MANX was loading a bulk cargo of grain at Terminal 86 for its maiden voyage to Japan, presumably having come to Seattle directly from the November christening ceremony in Shanghai, China. The lettering was undoubtedly a part of that ceremony and arrival in Seattle afforded the first realistic opportunity to remove it. Eric Quense (Emurrelet)
