The photograph was taken on Oct. 29th 2009, the vessel then named ‘SANKO OASIS’ was heading inbound up the East Lamma Channel bound for Castle Peak Power Station with a full load of coal from China. When I uploaded the image on Nov. 13th 2009, the vessel according to DS database was still named ‘SANKO OASIS’ .At some later date, possibly when the vessel was renamed, the ships AIS transponders would have been reprogrammed. and ‘6 905’ incorrectly entered as the ships name. It is this information that DS picks up and uses in the database. At present until the ships AIS transponder is changed it will continue to transmit ‘6 905’ as its name.

I can just imagine on a cold and still winter’s morning, standing at the top of the bank, looking down on ‘CFL PATRON’ glideing almost silently along the canal. The only sound coming from a large mixed flock of small birds feeding amonst the Silver Birch trees. Juergen you have captured the mood perfectly.
